CCS attended Dressage at the Meadow in Doswell Va on May 3-4. Peony had her debute for the year at 3rd 1! She was very obedient and settled. Her flying changes are not confirmed but 80% of the time she is spot on! Jim Koffords stallion Dux tried his hand at 2nd 1 and 2. Amore than unmotivated test on the first day left for much improvemnet for the second day which he stepped up to the plate and performed like a good boy! Lyam, a KWPN owned by Sara Kern who boards at Cedar Creek had a hugely successful weekend at first 1 and 2! Big accomplishments for this pair and a score towards BLM’S!!
Theoden and Frej attended the Lucinda Green clinic held at Win Green farm on April 18 & 19. Lucinda, like most, was at first pretty unsure of these loud colored animals attending her clinic. Like most, once the spotty bodies go to work hearts instantly soften to their excellent tmperments! Both horses and riders were asked many new questions and gained confidence over fences. A great new experience to add to Cedar Creeks many adventures!

Xavoy Middlesom, Halifax Middlesom, CCS Tinuvel, and CCS Theoden survived the weekend at our first licensed show in Williamston North Carolina. Despite the downpours on Saturday, and High winds on Sunday, all spotty bodies had a good weekend and performed well! Xavoy and Melyni tried their hand at Intermed A but decided there is some extra curricula needed doing, so back to the drawing board, aka the indoor. Halifax and April took an attempt at fourth 2, the test was a bit of a stretch for Halifax but he tried his big heart out! Tinuvel was a very good girl strutting her stuff at Third 1 & 2, to come home and continue to work on relaxation! Theo was his little worker bee self, very obedient, and social! The crowd loves Theo as his personality and willingness is top of the line! He rocked at all three First level tests, and not surprisingly his First 3 test kept him most entertained, and willing as he likes challenges!

June 7th Virginia Horse Trials at Cedar Creek. HT’s, CT’s and schooling dressage show. Entry forms and info on the VHT website.
The first show group out of Cedar Creek went to complete combined tests at Plain Dealing Farm! Maddy S introduced Padaraigin to the show world at Advanced green. After a bobble in the dressage the mare jumped beautifully! April Shultz and Theoden completed their first Beg Novice CT with an obedient dressage test and a clean SJ round! Sophia Martina and Frej rocked at Novice placing the pair in 1st! A fun day at an excellent facility and a well run show!
Cedar Creek emerges! Another snow storm has come and passed. Our little community here has overcame another obstacle! Lots of Snow! The horse were eager for turnout today after over 24 hours of solitude Of their stalls. However, all horses were in great spirits and ready to return to normal routine. With the help of all able bodied staff members the stable is in great working order again!
Day two of the Stephen Bradley clinic introduced some new questions! More so for Theoden as Frej seemed to know the answer to everything! Theoden was certain he could not fit throught the skinny jump! After a couple stops and some reassurance, Theo’s over achieving attitude took over and the skinny became just another jump! Overall both Sophia and April are pleased with the clinic and horses. More importantly the horses seemed to learn from the material presented and have a better understanding of footwork and jumping!
